Description

The Dolphin is a marine mammal belonging to the order Cetacea. This excellent swimmer has lungs and can hold his breath for more than 20 minutes underwater. The vent, this small hole he has on his head allows him to renew its oxygen on the surface. He is also able to descend to great depths. It is a very sociable animal that lives mainly in groups (from 15 individuals to several hundred depending on the species); a definite advantage to protect against predators, but also to hunt schools of sardines or mackerel. The dolphins emit ultrasound and use echolocation (like a sonar) to orient themselves and detect the presence of obstacles or schools of fish. They love the game and often manifest their joy by incredible jumps over the water. Did you know that the dolphin is recognized as one of the most intelligent animals?
