On April 10th, from 4-7 PM, we invite you to join us at LEO’s IMPACT – An Autism Awareness Expo at Lifelong Access (2000 Jacobssen Dr, Normal, IL). This special event is dedicated to honoring the life of Leo Egbers, a young boy with autism who tragically drowned in May 2024. Leo’s story highlights the urgent need for better access to autism resources, support, and awareness—something this event aims to change.
Why This Event Matters
Leo, just shy of his third birthday, was drawn to water and often wandered—both common challenges for children with autism. His parents faced significant barriers in obtaining an official diagnosis and accessing essential services. LEO’s IMPACT was created to raise awareness, provide resources, and build a stronger, more informed community to support children like Leo.
At the expo, families will find a wealth of information from local organizations, autism specialists, and support networks. It’s a place to learn, connect, and take action to ensure all children receive the services they need.
